A Wallsend contractor has seen an increase in business with eight new jobs created thanks to securing several new contracts.
Turney Wylde provides construction services for clients in the social housing, property regeneration and commercial sectors across the north east.
Established in 1967 as a family company, the firm has focused on specialist contracting work and recently won a n umber of contract deals, including:
• a five-year project to upgrade residential properties for housing association Bernicia;
• new build housing schemes in the social housing sector;
• green agenda work for British Gas;
• and construction work with Newcastle University within a long term framework agreement.
Managing director Ken Parkin said: “These new contracts are great wins for the company, cementing our position as a key player in the construction sector in the region and providing an ongoing pipeline of work for the next five years.
“While it is a highly competitive industry, the new long-term work from such well-known organisations is a huge vote of confidence in Turney Wylde, and one that we’re aiming to translate into continued growth in the coming year.
“The ongoing support from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has been vital in giving us the capacity to pitch for and take on these contracts, which simply wouldn’t have been possible without it.”
The new contracts offer varied work, from school refurbishment to the regeneration of existing housing stock.
