Kids shown building site

SAFETY mascot Ivor Goodsite made a special appearance at a Wallsend housing development recently to meet youngsters from a local school.

Children from Richardson Dees Primary School in the town visited the new Diamond House development on High Street East, in a visit organised by Surgo Construction (Surgo), the contractor appointed by social landlord Isos to build the development of flats.

The youngsters went on site to learn about the dangers of playing near building sites, as well as getting a chance to see where some artwork they are working on will be located when the building is completed.

Teacher Rory Bell said: “The children really enjoyed their visit to the housing development.

“As we are currently producing art work for the project, it really helped the children to put this learning into context.”
