A special memory gathering event is taking place next week to mark the beginning of a project looking at the history of a borough school.
The event is taking place at Rockcliffe First School on Wednesday, June 4, at 2.15pm, where people can give their memories as part of the ‘Rockcliffe Remembers’ project.
School teachers, children, local heritage and community groups, residents, and local graphic design company Black Dog Design will bring more than 100 years of history in the school and area to life through an online resource.
The project aims to gather stories and recollections from former pupils and the surrounding community, which will be presented through a website.
Teacher Karen Robinson said: “We are confident the website will be of great interest to anyone who has attended the school or lives in the area.
“These handwritten logbooks are an excellent primary source of information for anyone with an interest in life in a Northumberland school in the early-to-mid twentieth century.”
