Men arrested in connection with murder are bailed
FIVE North Shields men arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail today (Wednesday).
Detectives investigating the death of 47-year-old Andrew Smart arrested the five on Tuesday, one of whom was a 16-year-old male.
The youth, along with two 18-year-old, a 19-year-old and 20-year-old have all been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 21-year-old North Shields man arrested this morning remains in custody and his helping police with their enquiries.
Three male youths aged 13, 14 and 15 were arrested in connection with the investigation and bailed pending further enquiries.
