Motorcyclist dies following Wallsend collision

A motorcyclist involved in a collision in Wallsend on Thursday has died in hospital.

The man in his 40s had been taken to the RVI in Newcastle following a collision with a Post Office van but died of his injuries on Friday June 13.

Police are continuing to appeal for informaiton to the crash which happened Thursday, June 12, at 6.50am, on the A187 Times View Terrace, East Howdon, near to the entrance of the pedestrian tunnel, when the motorbike rider collided with a Royal Mail van.

The van driver, a man in his 50s, suffered minor injuries.

Enquiries are still being carried out to establish the circumstances of the collision.
