A discount retailer will open this weekend, bringing 40 new jobs to the borough.
Home Bargains is investing approximately £500,000 in a new store in Wallsend, which will be officially opened on Saturday, March 22.
The new shop will create 40 new jobs in the community, with its latest store located on Segedunum Way, replacing a former Co-Operative.
Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re excited to be opening our first store in Wallsend and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors.
“Segedunum Way will be a great location for us – we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer local people top branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”
The 15,000 sq ft store will be opened on Saturday by Mayor Norma Redfearn.
