New striking duo ready to debut at the Lane

SUNDERLAND could hand full debuts to new signings Djbril Cisse and David Healy at Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

Certainly the arrival of Cisse and Healy will give Sunderland's fans and players a massive boost going into tomorrow's game and Healy is thrilled with the move – fully aware of the ambition and size of a club which is determined to go places.

The 28-year-old, who has agreed a three-year deal with Sunderland, said: "I'm hungry to do well here.

"I hope to bring goals and energy to the side.

"When a club the size of Sunderland comes in for you it is an easy decision.

"I have met Niall Quinn and Roy Keane, two legends of the game, and it inspires me.

"I can't wait to pull on the jersey, I'm thrilled and excited.

"The ambition of the club is huge, it is a club on the up.

"I know what the fans are like here, I know what the club means to them.

"I've played here when there's been 45,000 in – and that was in the Championship!"

The Northern Ireland international is his country's leading scorer by a wide margin and having played in the 0-0 draw against Scotland at Hampden Park midweek, feels he will be at his sharpest if he is used this weekend.

He said: "I've not played that many games but I played 90 minutes on Wednesday so that will help my fitness.

"I hope to be involved on Saturday. I'm looking forward to the whole thing.

"Tottenham is a tough challenge and it would be great to get a good result."

Healy is Sunderland's eighth summer signing andKeane is delighted to have snapped him up.

"David will be a great signing for us," said the Sunderland manager.

"He has lots of experience at the top level and his international record is phenomenal.

"He scored a few goals for Fulham last season, one of them was a very well-taken strike against us at Craven Cottage, and again he's yet another signing who will increase competition for places."

Healy joined Fulham from Leeds on a four-year deal last summer in a deal worth 1.5m.
