A new training academy for onshore and offshore industries has opened near the banks of the river Tyne.
Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell was on hand to officially open Shoreland Access’ new £250,000 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Academy.
Shoreland NDT Academy will provide training courses and industry qualifications to candidates wishing to pursue a career in NDT for both the onshore and offshore sectors.
The first facility of its kind in the north east, the academy will attract candidates from all over the UK and will produce technicians who will go on to work across the world.
Shoreland NDT Academy will provide fully regulated training courses in ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, eddy current, weld inspection and radiography interpretation, all of which carry the industry standard BINDT (British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing) PCN qualification.
The academy is based on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate close to AIS and the Offshore Survival Centre, making the area a one-stop location for candidates wishing to pursue a career offshore.
Courses launch this August. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
