Workers from a major North Tyneside employer swapped their office for the garden.
Employees from Proctor and Gamble turned their hand to a bit of gardening to spruce up the Marie Curie Cancer Care Hospice Garden in Newcastle.
The company’s forecasting team helped tidy the tranquil outdoor spaces surrounding the hospice as part of a team-building day after holding fundraising activities to buy plants and flowers to take on their gardening challenge.
As well as a general tidy-up within the gardens, the team planted new flowers & plants, re-located some others, did some weeding, dug-out a large section of overgrown plants, painted outside furniture, tidied the pot plants and created a wild meadow.
The hospice provides end-of-life care to terminally-ill patients, with each having a room that opens onto the main garden, providing an outside space where they can be safe and close to the nursing staff.
