Pair get cut off by incoming tide

Two people narrowly avoided being swept out to sea after being cut off by the tide at King Edward’s Bay.

An initial response team from Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade were called to the scene at 11.25am on January 11.

The pair managed to climb over rocks, narrowly avoiding being hit by large waves, and made their way back onto the beach.
