Business park staff were able to get up close to one of football’s most famous trophies.

Quorum Business Park, in Longbenton, hosted a visit from the Premier League Trophy to mark the closing of the annual Quorum Games.

Newcastle United’s Monty and Maggie Magpie and Sunderland mascots Simpson and Delilah were on hand to guard the goals in a penalty shootout.

Proceeds were split between the Newcastle United Foundation and Sunderland’s Foundation of Light.

Barclays arranged the visit as part of its Workplace Banking, with staff getting a picture with the trophy.

The Quorum Games saw cricket competitions, sack races, boules and bubble football taster sessions and more over a three week period.

Quorum events manager Laura Barber said: “Having the League Trophy onsite alongside visits from two of our local football clubs only added to the excitement of the Games.”
