Youngsters from the borough have taken part in a special crabbing competition as part of a pirate school.
Jolly Pirates Beach School ran the competition where prizes were awarded to the pirate who caught the biggest crab and the pirate who caught the most crabs in their bucket.
The winner of the biggest crab caught was Freddie Watson , and the winner of the most crabs caught was Samuel Lyttle, who landed 16 crabs in his bucket.
Sarah Heath, from the Jolly Pirate School said: “ The children had great fun looking under rocks and seaweed and they found lots of different kinds of crabs; edible crabs, shore crabs and hermit crabs.
“Everyone did so well and really enjoyed themselves.
“We are hoping to make this an annual event as it was such a success.”
