Richardson Dees Primary School in Wallsend marked Safer Internet Day 2014 last week with their pupils.
The school joined hundreds of other organisations across the UK promoting the safe and responsible use of technology.
To celebrate the day, classes at Richardson Dees Primary School completed lessons and fun activities that were all about safety on the Internet.
The day, on Tuesday 11th February 2014, had the theme ‘Let’s create a better internet together’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a better internet.
Rory Bell, Year 5 Class Teacher and ICT Co-ordinator said: “The children really enjoyed their day.
“They made Internet Safety posters, created their own apps and sang e-Safety songs.
“This initiative is so important as it not only helps our children to know how to stay safe online, but also to continue to see the Internet as a positive resource when it is used in the right way.”
