Relief for One Direction fans as strike action called off

Strike action scheduled to take place on the day of the One Direction concert, has now been averted, following successful talks between DB Regio and the RMT.

The Metro will run now run as normal tomorrow, Wednesday, May 28, ensuring tens of thousands of daytime commuters and those attending the One Direction concert in the evening will no longer face unnecessary disruption.

Sharon Kelly, customer services and operations director at DBTW, which operates stations and trains on behalf of Nexus, said: “We are delighted that we have reached a mutual agreement following our meeting with the RMT this morning and strike action is no longer going ahead.
