Uniformed and public services students at a borough college have been finding out more about the Army Reserves.

The Northumberland Hussars, a squadron of the British Army Reserves, came to TyneMet College bringing some of their armoured vehicles.

The level 2 and 3 students were introduced to the benefits, the vast array of job types, and career progression opportunities available within the Army Reserves.

The students were able to sit in the vehicles and simulate firing the on-board weapon systems as well as learning more about army life from the reservists.

TyneMet’s uniformed and public services courses are specifically designed to introduce students to organisations such as the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as well as the prison, police, fire and ambulance services.
