A new community class is hoping it has the right signals to go forward after a successful opening.
The Yoga Station, based in the former train signals room at Whitley Bay Metro station, offers classes for all ages, body shapes, abilities and level of experience.
And to mark its opening, free half hour taster sessions are being held on Saturday and Sunday – March 15 and 16.
Duika Burges Watson, co-founder, said: “It’s been an amazing experience building the Yoga Station out of the former train signals room, we are all very proud of what has been achieved.
“It’s been such a community-led project and we are so thankful to the residents in the area for their support.
“This open day is our way of saying thank you and inviting everyone to see what we have created.”
The Yoga Station is linked to the Station Masters Community Wildlife Garden, which opened last June. The garden will also be open from 10am to 4pm over the open day weekend.
