Shoppers are being encouraged to recycle more waste as a roadshow continues its tour around the borough.
North Tyneside Council will be at the Morrisons store in Preston Grange, North Shields, next Tuesday and Wednesday to help people reduce, reuse and recycle their waste as part of the ‘Changing Our Thinking’ campaign.
On March 4, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, the Love Food, Hate Waste Roadshow will provide tips on how people can reduce their waste and ideas for turning leftovers into new dishes.
As a special Pancake Day treat, shoppers can also try sweet and savoury pancakes and see how leftover pancakes can be used to make trifles.
At the same time the following day, the recycling team will be back at the supermarket with the Wash, Squash and Recycle Roadshow during which people will be challenged to take part in fun recycling games.
Shoppers will be encouraged to make a pledge to wash, squash and recycle their plastic bottles and in turn will be invited to guess how many bottles are in a household recycling bin, with spot prizes up for grabs.
