A roadshow encouraging residents to recycle waste is continuing to tour the borough.

As part of North Tyneside Council’s new ‘Changing Our Thinking’ campaign, an interactive roadshow is visiting town centres, supermarkets and community centres over the coming months.

The campaign provides rewards and incentives to encourage residents to recycle, as well as providing advice and information to them about how they can reduce the waste they produce and make use of food leftovers.

The roadshow will be at Asda in Whitley Road, Benton, today (Thursday), from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Members of the Wash, Squash and Recycle Roadshow will challenge the public to try fun recycling games.

Shoppers are being encouraged to make a pledge to wash, squash and recycle their plastic bottles and in turn will be able to win prizes by guessing how many bottles are in a household recycling bin.

For dates and locations visit www.northtyneside.gov.uk/squash or call 0345 1000 101.
