BAD weather is affecting refuse and recycling in the borough.
Residents are being warned by North Tyneside Council that the bins may not be collected this week due to the bad weather.
Bin crews are struggling to access some properties and streets because of the icy conditions.
However, the council is asking people to leave their bins outside, as crews will return to collect them at some point.
Locations the local authority is unable to access is being placed on the council's website – www.northtyneside.gov.uk
Steve Whitworth, logistics manager at the council, said: "We would like to thank residents for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"The majority of collections are taking place as normal but the adverse conditions have meant we are unable to gain access to some areas.
"I would urge residents to leave their bins outside as we always aim to catch up any missed collections before the end of the next working day."
