Artistic youngsters helped kick off a packed programme of activities for children in Whitley Bay.
The programme, developed by Whitley Bay Big Local, features a series of events and activities to inspire under 18s in the town and introduce them to different skills and hobbies.
“Big Fish Little Fish” was a free drop-in art workshop for children of all ages where participants created their very own luminous fish from a range of materials.
Whitley Bay Big Local is a Big Lottery funded 10 year community initiative led by volunteers with the aim of making the seaside town a great place for everyone to live and work.
The summer youth programme will be running throughout August with opportunities to try a host of activities including Samba drumming, fashion upcycling, film making and photography.
