The iconic landmark Spanish City is to host the biggest event in its history before it finally closes for redevelopment.
A group of local actors, musicians and dancers have formed a not-for-profit company to stage a ten-day Under The Dome festival.
Gerry Beldon, co-ordinator of Under the Dome, said: “This is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate local talent and to experience the Dome at its very best.
“We want to acknowledge the support we have received, from performers, volunteers and the council in putting together this very ambitious festival.”
They will be joined by professional acts including Martin Stephenson, Hannah Rickard and the Relatives, The Keelers, and Prelude.
Cloud Nine Theatre Company will perform two plays, and Day8 will also perform.
Whitley Women, Mouths of the Tyne, and Bay Vox provide choral elements to the festival, and Vieux Carré Jazzmen bring another dimension to the proceedings.
There will be free entertainment during each day of the festival, and tickets for the evening events are available now only from the website, together will the detailed programme of events.
