A staff member was injured after robbers targeted a Post Office in North Shields.
Two men approached the premises in Nile Street and smashed a window to gain entry just after 7.05pm on Friday, January 10.
One man went inside and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, with the pair making off in a car driven by a third man.
A member of staff who was in the shop suffered a minor injured and were also left shocked by the incident.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is helping police with their enquiries.
Police attended and carried out enquiries in the area.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.
A police spokesperson said: “It is believed there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and they are urged to contact the police.”
