And colleague Louise Thompson, who began working at the store as a school leaver, has now completed her degree to become a fully qualified dispensing optician.

The 27-year-old took the opportunity to gain her qualification through Specsavers, attending Anglia University for three days every three months and studying in her spare time.

She said: “I’d like to thank the team for their encouragement, support and guidance over the last three years. I feel it’s a joint achievement.”
