Team's 300 mile cycle

Bike riders from Barnardos two regional offices in Horsforth in Leeds and Cobalt Park in Newcastle on Tyne have raised Â£650 to celebrate the charitys 150th anniversary, cycling two lots of 150 miles in June.

A team from Barnardo’s regional office in Cobalt Park joined colleagues from Leeds in a 300-mile cycle ride to celebrate the charity’s 150th anniversary.

The Barnardo’s business development and finance teams covered the distance between the two offices on real and static bikes, raising £650.

Business development manager Alison Silvers said: “We were delighted to raise £650 for Barnardo’s.

“We wanted a way to celebrate the 150 years since Thomas Barnardo started the charity and linking our two offices in the east region, in Leeds and Newcastle, seemed a good way.

“Not only did we raise money, but we had the opportunity to tell people about Barnardo’s support.”
