An ice hockey team are preparing to swap their skates for trainers to compete in a charity fun run.
Members of Tyneside Jesters will be joining thousands of others to take part in the 31st Children’s Cancer Run in aid of the North of England Children’s Cancer Research fund.
The team, which train at Whitley Bay Ice Rink every Wednesday night, are preparing to complete the five-mile run in full ice hockey kit – including pads, guards, gloves and helmet.
Assistant captain Rob Earl said: “We’re very proud to be doing this run in support of such an important cause.”
