The Good Stuff gets licence to sell alcohol
ALCOHOL can now be bought from the first restaurant delivery service in the north east after they were granted a premises licence.
The Good Stuff is the only service in the region to deliver freshly prepared dishes from local restaurants directly to people's doors.
And members of North Tyneside Council's licensing sub-committee last week agreed an application for a premises licence to allow the company to supply alcohol with the food, from a warehouse at Point Pleasant Industrial Estate, Wallsend, every day between noon and 10.30pm.
Ross Collins, on behalf of the applicant, said: "The idea for a restaurant delivery service is a solution to an increasing problem for restaurateurs and the local community, by appealing to an increasingly 'stay at home' market.
"The Good Stuff is a one stop shop for a wide range of restaurant prepared food that can be delivered directly to your door, and we want the opportunity to be able to offer alcohol to our customers to have with their meal, as we offer a range of non-alcoholic drinks at the moment.
"We would only be serving alcohol with food, and we do not anticipate it will be with every order."
Members of the licensing sub-committee granted the application with conditions including CCTV to be installed at the warehouse.
