Youngsters are being encouraged to snap up their wristbands for a popular open air music festival.
The ‘Event @ Segedunum’ is taking place in the historic grounds of Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend on Saturday, July 5, featuring local young bands and singers.
More than 1,000 wristbands, priced at £3, are now on sale at middle and high schools, the museum or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
North Tyneside’s Young Mayor Allen Oghene said: “The great thing about this year is that there are so many different genres of music so there really is something for everyone. I’m really looking forward to it.”
On the day, young gig-goers will have to chance to vote for their favourite performer who will then go on to play on the main stage at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival, sharing the bill with Paul Weller and Lawson.
Last year’s self-taught musician Matty Rayson scooped the prize and played to thousands at Mouth of the Tyne the following weekend.
