Businesses in the borough have been discussing the regeneration of North Shields town centre .

The ongoing development of North Shields, business support and car parking were some of the issues discussed when Mayor Norma Redfearn met members of the town’s chamber of trade and commerce.

Mrs Redfearn called in to five businesses – Beacon Centre, Blu Sky accountants, N2 Ltd, Tyneside Electrical Distributors and community group The Net North Shields, and attended a reception with more than 40 chamber members and talked about developments in the town.

Chairman of the chamber of trade, David Bavaird, said: “This was a real opportunity for us to show the mayor the range of businesses we have and to discuss in detail and in a constructive way how we can make North Shields attractive for businesses, residents and visitors.”
