Work almost done on new day centre

A brand new day centre is almost ready to launch in Whitley Bay following a £950,000 project to transform an old hotel.

Construction firm Howard Russell has turned the Ambassador Hotel in to a centre for people with learning disabilities, which once completed will comprise a specialist day care unit, training facilities and offices to provide support services to young people and adults in North Tyneside on behalf of New Prospects.

Ian Goss, commercial director of Howard Russell, said: “We are proud to be working for such a fantastic charitable cause.

“New Prospects offer a wide range of support services to the community and the new facility will enable them to further enhance these services.”
