A borough park’s centre has been listed as one of the most hospitable places on the planet.

The Countryside Centre, within the Rising Sun Country Park, has been awarded with a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, which recognises hospitality excellence.

The Benton park has received some rave reviews on the travel website from visitors who describe it as “paradise” and an “oasis in the city”.

Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “We’re really pleased to receive this recognition – especially since it can only be achieved if visitors rate it highly.

“It’s been a brilliant year for North Tyneside on TripAdvisor.

“With the school holidays fast approaching, it’s great that our fantastic attractions have been highlighted in such a prominent way.”

The Rising Sun Country Park is a 400-acre park providing a nature haven, including a Countryside Centre and Café where customers can enjoy home cooked food.
