Young people express views on wellbeing

Young people from across the borough have been expressing their views about the health and wellbeing issues affecting young people.

Exam stress, self esteem, friendship, exercise and health concerns are just some of the topics covered by pupils in North Tyneside after they produced three magazines – Tag-mag, Mag 4U and Teenz.

Written by children for children, they are available in libraries and schools.

Children from Stephenson Memorial Primary School in Wallsend produced the latest edition of Tag-mag with the young editors describing among other things their breakfast club, friendship lunches, art club and the Memory Wall in the school’s garden.

Mag 4U has been written and produced by the pupils at Woodlawn School in Monkseaton who set out all the different activities they do to keep their bodies and minds healthy.

And sixth formers at St Thomas More RC Academy are the team behind the autumn/winter edition of Teenz.

The issue focuses on stress issues, how to relax and includes top tips for improving self-esteem and living a happier, healthier and more positive lifestyle.
