A YOUNG entrepreneur has just launched an iPhone and iPad App to make the increasingly popular Instagram even better.

Whitley Bay High School sixth form student Dylan McKee, 17, has previously seen his popular apps get well over a million downloads, and is now hoping to have similar success with his latest Instawhere, which enables users to view photographs by location on Instagram.

Dylan, from Seghill, believes it’s the first app that gives this facility to people using the photograph sharing service, which now has over 100 million active users.

Dylan said: “With Instawhere users can now easily find photographs by location on Instagram.

“When I realised there wasn’t anything that enabled you to do this I thought it was a real gap in the market.

“Such a wide range of people now use Instragram that I’m sure there’ll be a high demand for Instawhere.

“It could also be useful for events and festival organisers, entertainment venues, accommodation providers and a whole host of other businesses.

“If you are looking to move house, or go on your travels Instawhere could be a great help to get a real idea of what the area you’re planning to go to is like.

“You can also see the photos people are taking in particular areas when there are extreme weather conditions like the current snow.”

Following the launch of his first app in 2010 Dylan has been commissioned to make a range of different ones for organisations, including Surfing in Tynemouth and North East Golfer apps.
