Three groups in North Tyneside have received grants from the Big Lottery Fund to help continue their work.
North Tyneside Learning Trust has been awarded £8,970 from the Big Lottery Fund to run three holiday clubs for children in the borough where they will take part in a creative literacy drama project.
North Tyneside Voluntary Organisations Development Agency received £9,750 to deliver informal, bite-sized training sessions covering topics which will include how to write a governing document, recruiting volunteers, publicity and marketing.
And Whitley Lodge First School will use the £8,460 it has received to set up two after-school clubs and a five-day combined holiday camp for children from deprived backgrounds who have no access to out of school activities.
Big Lottery Fund spokesperson Tessa Wiley said: “Our Awards for All programme helps small local groups do great work in their communities.
“It’s fantastic to fund such a wide range of good causes – whether it is support groups for bereaved families, fitness classes for older people, skills and training for young people, or after school clubs.”
