A woman is taking part in a marathon in memory of her husband.

Louise Bradley will be taking part in the Stirling Marathon on Sunday to raise funds for the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB).

Her husband Gavin tragically died along with two family members in an accident on the River Tyne on May 11, 2014.

The TVLB was one of numerous emergency services who attended and helped recover the three men.

Since then the men’s family and friends have completed numerous fund-raising events for the Brigade – from running the Great North Run, to competing in the Allendale Challenge to partaking in the South Shields Boxing Day Dip – raising in excess of £11,000

On this occasion, Louise will be venturing individually on what she describes as ‘the toughest time-consuming challenge so far, which has pushed me to my limits’.

TVLB Captain Peter Lilley said: “All of the members of the Brigade have been inspired by Louise’s willingness to keep pushing herself in the name of raising funds and the profile of our team and we wish her the very best for her run.”
