Man stabbed after argument in Wallsend

A man was stabbed during an incident in Wallsend.

An argument between two men took place in Priors Way at 4pm on Wednesday, May 14, which resulted in one of the men, aged 28, suffering a stab wound.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is described as stable.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and to trace the offender, and are asking any witnesses to contact them.

Extra police are in the area.

Chief Inspector Graham Watson said: “Enquiries to establish what has happened are very much in the early stages and we would ask any witnesses to get in contact.

“Extra police are in the area carrying out enquiries and to offer reassurance to the local community.”
