Men steal cash and phones in armed robbery

Two men stole cash and phones during an armed robbery on a computer shop.

The pair entered Phone and Computer Care shop, in Rudyerd Street, North Shields, armed with weapons and threatened staff.

They then made off with cash and mobile phones.

The member of staff was left shaken by the incident but not injured.

The first man is described as 5ft 11ins tall, medium build and was wearing a black balaclava covering his face.

The second man is described as 6ft 2ins tall, slim build and was wearing a dark hooded top, he was also wearing a balaclava.

Enquiries into the robbery, which happened at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, November 24, are ongoing and anyone with information to help is asked to contact police.

Detective Inspector Dave English said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries and I would urge anyone who has any information about this incident or which might help identify the people responsible to get in touch.

“Extra officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance and anyone who has any concerns can approach our officers or contact police on 101.”
