Monkeying around in town centre

SHOPPERS in borough town centres this weekend can get some top tips on how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

People will be able to get healthy eating advice on Saturday while being entertained by street performers playing the roles of monkey and zoo keeper as they give away fresh fruit.

The event will be in North Shields between 10.30am and 11.15am; Whitley Bay from noon to 12.45pm; and Wallsend between 2pm and 2.45pm.

Other events planned for March include a classic car display, a balloon modelling competition plus a display of reptiles and creepy crawlies.

The presentations are part of a programme of events organised by North Tyneside Council to support town centre businesses.
