More fun for all the family is planned on Whitley Bay seafront.
North Tyneside’s Summer Festival continues as organisers prepare for another week full of events.
This weekend, at Whitley Bay’s Spanish City Plaza, there will be street entertainment with some of the world’s best street performers and the region’s best buskers singing popular crowd-pleasers.
Across the two days, people can see names such as Matt Barnard, as well as the Strong Lady show all the way from Australia and The Record Breaker, from Mexico.
Hosted by international variety artist Todd Various, the shows will take place every hour between noon and 3pm.
Activities continue at Tynemouth Station with more free events taking place next week from Monday to Friday.
There are interactive sessions for children aged under five in the mornings where children can meet their favourite movie princesses and become mini Olympians with free sports classes.
In the afternoons, there will be a varied programme of live jazz performances between 1pm and 4pm, with Blue Skies, The Kirsty Forster Trio and the Maine Street Jazzmen just a few of the acts on show.
There is a variety of free and paid-for events taking place throughout the borough, from the ever-popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic at the Rising Sun Countryside Centre to a Water Play Day at Richardson Dees Park.
Some events have limited availability and must be booked in advance.
