Classic car owners will be motoring to an inaugural event later this month.
More than 150 cars will be taking part in the region’s newest classic cars show with organisers encouraging more to sign up.
And it is hoped the show will become an annual event.
Enthusiasts from across the north east will gather on The Links in Whitley Bay on Sunday, September 21, with cars ranging from pre-1950s classics to more recent vehicles.
Cars from yesteryear and around the world will be on show for visitors including a 1933 Austin, a 1946 Morris, a 1959 Sunbeam, a 1969 Triumph, a 1969 Daimler, a 1978 Reliant and a 1985 Jaguar.
There will also be a collection of vintage buses from the 1940s to 1970s on display along with live music and refreshments for visitors.
North Tyneside Council has worked in partnership with local classic car enthusiasts to create the event, which they hope will become an annual attraction for Whitley Bay.
Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said “There’s a lot of excitement for this new event and I hope people from across the region come along to meet the car owners and enjoy a day at the coast.”
