A NEW community network has been launched to ensure adults can get the guidance they need to make the right choices about their personal care.
Sign North Tyneside, the borough’s signposting information guidance network, is made up of voluntary and community sector organisations.
It will back up North Tyneside Council’s introduction of personalisation, a government policy giving people more control over the social care support they need.
The authority’s cabinet member for health and social care, Coun Les Miller, of Monkseaton North, said: “We are working to ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from personalisation.
“However, we know that is only possible if people have the right information they need to make those choices.
“Sign North Tyneside is about creating a network in which all member organisations have agreed that if anyone asks for information about social care, they will make sure they help them to get to the right place.”
