SINGERS in a newly formed choir made their first public performance in Whitley Bay at the weekend.

Bay:vox made the surprise appearance in Park View Shopping Centre on Saturday to give shoppers a musical treat.

Organiser Hannah Fuller said: “I’m really proud of the bay:vox singers.

“It’s quite some achievement to sing in public, which many of our members hadn’t done before, so they did brilliantly well.

“We’re all looking forward to our next outing at the Brierdene Festival on June 16.”

The a capella choir, which was formed in March by teacher and musician Hannah, meet on Mondays at 8pm in the upstairs room of the Berkeley Tavern in Marine Avenue.

New members of all abilities are welcome, call Hannah on 07805 548269 for more information.
