A health suite and gym at a borough leisure centre has re-opened after major refurbishment work.
New equipment has been installed at Tynemouth Pool, which now boasts new resistance machines, five new treadmills, two adaptive motion trainers, and an upgrade to the Fitlinxx system, which tracks and records workouts so gym users can review their session.
The pool’s health suite and associated changing rooms have all been redecorated and new flooring and wall coverings have been installed.
The work has been carried out as part of an ongoing programme of investment in North Tyneside Council’s leisure sites.
Further investment includes the introduction of the innovative ‘In Body’ technology to all of the five council gyms, which uses an electrical pulse to measure body strength, muscle mass and body fat percentage, allowing instructors to design the perfect mix of activities.
