A car repair centre has re-opened after a major refurbishment.
The Kwik Fit garage in Marine Avenue, Whitley Bay, underwent significant investment from the garage floor up.
It was one of 600 centres chosen by the company to benefit from the investment due to the commitment staff have made in serving the local community.
Customers will see the impact of the investment as the reception area has been completely redesigned to promote a more welcoming and customer-friendly environment.
Kwik Fit’s staff can sit down with each customer and discuss their individual requirements – whether it’s a simple tyre check or a full service.
And as a result of the investment, the centre now has specialist laser wheel alignment equipment that allows a car’s four wheels to be aligned as per the manufacturer’s specification.
Deputy Chairman of North Tyneside Council, Tommy Mulvenna was in attendance to meet the team and officially re-open the Whitley Bay centre.
He said: “It’s great to see a national company investing in their local premises, ensuring the area in which it is situated remains vibrant and attractive, and I was delighted to be invited to help to open the newly-refurbished branch in Whitley Bay.
“During the opening it was also pleasing to hear about the apprenticeship scheme on offer within the company; it’s fantastic that opportunities such as these are being created for young people in the borough.”
