A MUSIC fan is hoping to prove a hit after finally managing to turn his hobby into a career.
Mark Elliott, of North Shields, has completed a part-time musical business enterprise management course at Gateshead College, thanks to support from music development agency Generator.
The 48-year-old, pictured, has been promoting music for over ten years and is now turning his passion into a job by managing Newcastle band the Watchers.
He said: “The course has allowed me to take the Watchers to another level.
“The course has given me sound knowledge to progress within the music industry and the skills to finally create a sustainable career from something I am extremely passionate about.”
Since taking the course, Mark has taken the Watchers on tour with the Charlatans and the band are now having tracks produced by Danton Supple, who has previously worked with the likes of Coldplay and Morrissey.
