A new clothes shop is hoping to make waves after opening its first store in the north east.

British clothing brand Saltrock has added to its 15 stores in the south of the country by opening a store at Royal Quays Outlet Centre in North Shields.

The brand, a surfing specialist, is hoping the new store will be a huge hit with the north east’s surfing community.

Sean Burch, head of online and retail at Saltrock, said “We chose Royal Quays as a location to open the new store as it is an ideal spot to tap into the north east surfing community.

“Royal Quays is modern and vibrant, it attracts a wide range of audiences all of whom can benefit from our varied offering.”

Store manager Sarah Burns, 28, from North Shields, said: “I have a team of seven people working with me and it is a great place to work.

“As well as beach apparel we have a fantastic winter range in-store for men, women and children including our new winter jackets and accessories such as backpacks and wallets to choose from.”

Judith Ramshaw, Royal Quays centre manager, said: “Saltrock will provide our customers with the variety we are renowned for and we are delighted that they chose the centre for their first store in the north of England.”
