NEWCASTLE United defender Steven Taylor believes owner Mike Ashley and chairman Derek Llambias will continue to improve the squad.

The centre-half, who’s currently working hard in a bid to be fit for the 12/13 season after a serious injury, also thinks the Magpies will hold onto their big name players throughout this summers transfer window.

Taylor, who went to school in Whitley Bay and was talking at the opening of a new 3G pitch at Valley Gardens Middle School, reckons Newcastle will be able to cope with playing in the Europa League next season and admits the club are aiming for another top six finish in the Premier League.
