A resident celebrated her 100th birthday in style.
Noreen Skelly, who lives in The Lawns Care Home, Kensington Gardens, Monkseaton, celebrated her milestone birthday with friends, family and a message from the Queen.
Noreen was born during the First World War in North Shields, recalling a ‘happy time’ growing up the eldest of six children.
Noreen, who lived independently until moving into The Lawns in February, said: “I’ve had a good life. I’m very comfortable here.”
Lawns manager Kevin Bailey said: “Noreen’s an inspiration and both staff and residents are treated to her smiles and words of wisdom. She’s a friendly, popular lady.”
Noreen’s birthday was shared with the Queen’s official birthday.
