A nursery celebrated a good rating by Ofsted inspectors with a special open day.
Families were able to enjoy fun and games at TyneMet College’s Nursery open day where there was a visit from Bob the Builder and Peppa Pig.
The event marked ten years since the nursery opened at the college’s Wallsend campus and also tied in with the recent Ofsted inspection.
Inspectors rated the nursery as ‘good’ but there was an ‘outstanding’ rating for the wellbeing of children.
The report noted that children make good progress in all aspects of their learning and development and have warm and secure relationships with the staff.
The open day gave the nursery the opportunity to showcase their facilities and chat informally to families.
Children who attended with their parents had the chance to have their faces painted, play on a bouncy castle and draw or paint.
Working in partnership with Tynemouth Nursery Group, the college offers a 36-place nursery which cares for babies and children aged six weeks to five-years-old.
It is open from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year. For more call (0191) 229 5000.
