A GUIDE dog called Oscar is asking his four-legged friends to ‘Go Walkies’ on Sunday in aid of his furry colleagues.

Oscar is hoping that as many mutts as possible will put their best paw forward for charity Guide Dogs at Rising Sun Country Park in Benton from 11am.

Go Walkies is the dog walk where dogs and not their owners are sponsored and Oscar is hoping that his friends will be inspired by knowing that they will be helping dogs provide increased mobility and independence for people who are blind and partially sighted.

They will also be rewarded with a goody bag at the end of the walk and the chance to win six months’ supply of Eukanuba dog food.

Oscar’s owner Geoff Smart said: “Oscar is hoping that lots of his furry friends will join him for this lovely event which is part of our Guide Dog week celebrations.

“Oscar makes such a difference to my life and we are both proud to support Go Walkies.”
