SHOPPERS helped turn a town pink to raise money for a charity and awareness of a disease.
Wallsend Chamber of Trade were joined by officials from Soroptimist International Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and District and North Tyneside Council chairman John Stirling to Paint the Town Pink.
The event, organised by the Soroptimist and Shirley Hallam, saw windows of shops in the town dressed pink to support the annual Breast Cancer Campaign.
A family fun day was organised by the Chamber, with a tombola, book stall, cupcakes and a face-painter all taking part at the event held in the Forum Shopping Centre in the town.
All money raised will be donated to the local metastasis research at the University of Newcastle.
Other organisations across North Tyneside have been supporting the campaign, including North Tyneside Council, Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade, Whitley Bay Football Club and the Seahorse Ladies Darts Team.
